HAMILTON — Hamilton residents enjoyed a car show, pig roast and live music Saturday at the 12th Boots Bar and Grill Pig Roast.
The car show, featured about 14 cars and two vendors, got about 10 visitors due to the rain, which also caused the event to end early. Last year, there were about 50 cars and 20 vendors.
Natasha Turner of the Hamilton Diner organized and put on the car show. Vendors included Lyman business Jonasson Engravers, a crochet booth. and a lemonade and snow cone stand that Turner’s daughter and her daughter’s friend hosted.
In the car show, Tom Bigelow won best custom for his 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle, Jimmy Sweeten won judges choice for his 1983 Chevrolet S10, Lee Matier won crowd favorite for his 1950 Ford F1, and Bruce Queen won best custom paint job for his 1986 Chevrolet Silverado.
The pig roast and live music was hosted across the street from the Hamilton Diner at the Boots Bar and Grill.
About 100 people came to listen to live music by Dirty Pilots and Enchantrix, which event organizer Thesesa Boots said was a great turnout considering the weather.
Boots and her husband Frank have been putting on the event for all 12 years.
Visitors won raffle prizes, including fishing poles and a hammock chair set, gardening supplies, a picture frame, sushi maker and s’mores maker.
This year was Turner’s second year helping with the car show. She said she likes bringing the community together and seeing everyone having a good time, including the kids.
