Olivia Dean makes history yet again in the United Kingdom this week as she holds at No. 1 on the Official Singles chart. The Grammy winner sits alongside Sam Fender on the latter's “Rein Me In,†which has become the biggest hit of all time. The cut was originally a solo smash by Fender, but it became a duet and soared all the way to the highest rung on the main ranking of the most popular songs in the U.K.
Less than a month ago, “Rein Me In†tied the record for the longest-running No. 1 ever on the Official Singles tally, and then broke that all-time mark. It has racked up a total of 21 frames in the top spot, and the song may continue to lead for several more.
As “Rein Me In†refuses to budge, Dean's biggest solo smash helps her reach a milestone she has never hit entirely on her own before.
Olivia Dean's “Man I Need†Charts For One Year
“Man I Need†celebrates 52 weeks — exactly one full year — on the Official Singles chart this frame. The ranking measures the most-consumed songs throughout the U.K. via a combination of streaming and sales activity. A year into its run, the smash is still performing extremely well. “Man I Need†drops just one peg this week to No. 13.
Olivia Dean's Smash Started Inside the Top 10
“Man I Need†debuted on the Official Singles ranking late last August, opening at No. 8. The track then spent an entire month stalled in the runner-up rung before finally climbing to the summit in mid-September. “Man I Need†only managed one frame in charge, but it has proved to be extraordinarily sturdy.
Of the 52 total weeks Dean's single has spent somewhere on the roster, 33 have been inside the top 10.

“Man I Need†hits a year on four separate rankings in the U.K. simultaneously. The tune holds at No. 3 on the Official Streaming chart. At the same time, the composition falls on two purchase-focused lists, dipping to Nos. 26 and 27 on the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales rankings, respectively.
Olivia Dean's “Rein Me In†Is An Even Bigger Hit
“Rein Me In†is technically Dean's longest-charting hit on the Official Singles chart. The collaboration is now up to 61 weeks somewhere on the ranking, with a little more than a third of those stints spent at No. 1.
It is important to note, though, that “Rein Me In†was not always credited to both artists. There was a time when only Fender claimed the smash, before Dean joined the recording and the collaborative version took over.
Olivia Dean Could Soon Score Another Year-Long Hit
It may not be long before Dean sees another track reach a complete year on the Official Singles roster. “So Easy (To Fall in Love)†is now up to 45 weeks on the roster. Dean's third-longest-running hit returns to the top 40 this frame, inching from No. 44 to No. 38. The single has already climbed all the way to No. 2.
Olivia Dean Fills Four Spaces on the Main Singles Chart
Dean fills four spaces on the Official Singles chart this week. Typically, artists are limited to three simultaneous placements, according to rules set down by the Official Charts Company, but “Rein Me In†is a collaboration, so she manages to skirt that restriction.
Alongside “Rein Me In,†“Man I Need†and “So Easy (To Fall in Love),†Dean's “Baby Steps†drops one peg to No. 53. The tune has yet to hold on for double-digit frames, but with nine weeks accumulated so far, it could do so next time around.
Olivia Dean Charts Six Songs in the U.K.
Six Dean songs appear on at least one U.K. ranking this week. In addition to the four that live on the Official Singles chart, “You've Got a Friend,†her collaboration with Jools Holland, returns to the top 10 on both the Official Vinyl Singles and Official Physical Singles charts. The recording climbs to Nos. 7 and 10, respectively.
“Nice to Each Other,†which is also featured on Dean's breakout project The Art of Loving alongside “Man I Need†and “So Easy (To Fall in Love),†is steady at No. 42 on the Official Streaming list.
