Bexar County jail remains operating on generators after Friday night storm, BCSO says

BCSO says it is issuing ice water, jugs to inmates amid ongoing CPS Energy power outage

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County jail spent Saturday on backup power generators, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, as one of the many customers impacted by CPS Energy outages across San Antonio.

A sheriff's office spokesperson said it is “actively working with CPS and other county partners to get the facility back to running 100%.â€

In the meantime, the sheriff's office said it is issuing ice water and jugs to affected cells and utilizing large fans in the units impacted.
